All are welcome for our guest speaker, Pastor/Chaplain Tony Tilford, who will present a Forum entitled “A look at the journey at the end of life through the eyes of a hospice chaplain.”

Tilford will tell of his journey from a late teen whose fear of death led to a spiritual search for peace, and eventual embrace of Christianity. This led to training for ministry and later finding himself a hospice chaplain sitting at 1,000 bedsides seeking to comfort and help others find peace in their final days. He will share some of his experiences through poetry and story.

His dealing with significant losses in his own life, and his recognition that he had not ‘grieved’ them well, led to a special focus on being a ‘healthy griever’ which he then taught in workshops at the numerous facilities where he did his hospice work. That work continues now in his retirement from pastoral ministry/hospice.
